How can I control my panic attacks better? ?
At the moment I have a lot of things going on in my life, they are life changing events, and I’m very scared. I keep having small panic attacks and can’t think of anything else then what is going on. How can I focus on something else and try and be more positive about what’s going on.
Use things like positive self talk and deep breathing exercises. When you are having negative thoughts that lead to panic attacks you need to recognize it and force yourself to change your state of mind. Identify all the thoughts you have that are leading to the panic attacks. Then you think of all the reasons those thoughts are overestimating the situation and counter them with thoughts that are positive. It might sound funny but with a little practice it can work great. Deep breathing exercises are also a great way to calm yourself down. I recommend a book called “The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook” It has great ways of overcoming panic attack. If all this fails you can see a psychiatrist and get a prescription to help you mood.
