Panic attacks?
I think im suffering from panic attacks i think! im too scared to go to the doctors so can some help me diagnose im tired of readin ivilliage symptom solver! my symptoms are feeling light headed, cold wet palms, racing or slower heart beat fear of dying makes it worse last about 10 plus minutes please can someone give me some advise not just go see the doctor because thats what i am trying to avoid. thanks
Thanks everyone for your answers just so you know i phoned the doctors today and made an appointment Thanks again :0)
Panic attacks can be extremely scary. Try to remember that the sensations you are feeling won't hurt or kill you, and try doing deep breathing to calm down. The problem with panic attacks is that as soon as the first symptoms begin, we get scared and that makes more symptoms which make the fear level climb. They can be controlled with talking yourself through them with calming thoughts. I know what it's like and have learned to control mine over the years. Try doing as much reading about them as possible because education is your best defense.

Panic attacks do not last longer than 10 minutes. There are effective medications to treat Panic Attacks. I suggest you see a psychiatrist and a therapist.
I know, I've had a history of panic attacks myself. Take Care

Well, there are alot of ailments that mimic panic attacks like hypoglycemia for example. But if fear of dying is making it worse, it most likely can be panic and anxiety. I have had panic disorder for over 15 years now, and my best advice to you would be to see a professional and nip it in the bud. Iif it is bad enough that you are changing your daily routine medication might be the answer
good luck
and i believe panic attacks CAN last longer then 10 min.

Unfortunately, the thing you're trying to avoid is the best thing to do. Doctors aren't so frightening, and you can't do this byyourself. A doctor can put you on something for the anxiety, and you'll feel SO much better. Eventually, you should see a therapist to get to the bottom of what's causing the panic attacks. Do this for yourself. You deserve to feel better and live fully.

Sounds like a panic attack, but one can never be sure. It's anxiety of some sort. a doctor could really help, but eventually you need to learn relaxation techniques that can help you calm down. First, you should relax or meditate for about 10 minutes to 30 minutes a day. Then when these times come, you can call on that reserve of calm and do this. close your eyes and take a slow deep breath. Take another. Say "Calm, Cool,Collected." Do that until the feeling passes. Other techniques can be added. There are how to books on relaxation and panic. Good luck.

It sounds like anxiety and although you do not want to go to a doctor that may be your only way out. If you trying to calm yourself is not helping please go see a professional. It can have so many devastating effects on your head and body. You probably need some medicine and the best place to get it and be monitored is through a healthcare professional.
