Help for Panic Attacks - the Best Ways to Get Help for Panic Attacks
People who suffer from panic attacks always live their life in fear of having another panic attack, and are generally always on the look out for help for panic attacks. But this is no way to live a beautiful life and just proves how much control Anxiety and Panic can have over a human life. Thankfully, there is help available, and ways you can cope with panic attacks and help the condition. Below are 3 common techniques for panic attack sufferers. These are techniques which have helped many people across the globe and can assist you with destroying your condition.
1. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy can help you to destroy your panic attacks. It is performed by an expert psychotherapist and consists of a series of sessions for treating panic attacks. In these sessions therapists help patients to find out the causes of their condition. They also go deeper into the feelings created when having an attack and leading up to an attack. After this, the therapist would focus on the worst symptoms for the patient during an attack and build a program around those symptoms, by which patients feel calm and fear free. Expectantly, their feelings of worry, fear and nervousness are reduced to a great extent.
2. Self-Treatment
Secondly, Self- treatment can also be great help for panic attacks. It is a fact that panic attacks are extremely distressing and disturbing for the sufferer and can leave a sour feeling in ones mind. Now because of this, a panic attack sufferer will always carry around the fear of having another panic attack. So, when it comes to self help for panic attacks, it is a top priority to find out the reason behind them and the root problem. Self treatment is a timely treatment, but is far better than taking costly medications and therapy. One is required to boost up one’s confidence that such elements are easily achievable.
3. Medication
Medication is a technique and treatment which has mixed opinions. Doctors recommend medication such as Alprazolam, Lorazepam, Clonazepam and Diazepam, along with instructions that the patient should take medication at the beginning of a panic attack. Many people do not like the idea of taking medication and this technique does have many mixed reactions. This is certainly a technique which would require you to consult with your doctor before taking any action.
Apart from this, the best help for panic attacks is to positively realize that you can control them. Finding out the root problem and why you experience attacks can be the deal maker and the main obstacle to obtaining a panic attack free future.

The things I was tought is slow, deep breaths and then think or say the ABCs backwards. When you get to about H you should be Much calmer. The way it was explained to me is that the brain can only focus on one thing at a time and that the ABC excersize takes up a great deal of thought.
It’s worked for me in the past.
Good Luck!

Don’t forget: Whatever ’s happening around you is created by your own thoughts, so just try to work on your thoughts.

Try to discover the source of your panic attacks and if you do find the cause then ask yourself whether it is realistic or not.

I have suffered from panic attacks and anxiety for years. You really need to check out some breathing and mediation tapes. You also can go to the local library and find lots of books on this subject,But my self I would see if they had a mental health clinic in your area that bases what you pay. By what you make.Panic attacks can be very scary.

I had this same problem and I know how aggrivating this is. What u need to realize is that now its become a fear of the fear…ur scared to leavr ur house because ur scared to have a panic attack. This is called agoraphobia which is exactly what u descibed, u actually develop a fear of leaving ur house in fear something terrible (panic attack) will happen while ur out and u view home as a safe spot. DO NOT use meds. They have a lot of side effects and can even worsen the panic attacks. This is what u need to do…..
1. when u feel a panic attack coming on, stay calm. if ur at work, continue what ur doing. If ur shopping, continue to shop. The biggest mistake u will make is leaving the place u are. Once u leave, u will then associate the place u left with that horrible panic feeling and be scared to go back there. As soon as u feel those horrible feelings just say to urself "I know what this is. I have been through this a million times and everytime they pass." U need to actually LET IT COME. Now u are so worked up and ur scared of having another one. U need to just relax and let it come on..i know it sounds scary but trust me u need to face this. Continue shopping, focusing on the task ur doing..in a few minutes u will see ur body has calmed down a lot and it has passed. Once ur able to face panic attacks they will stop coming I promise. Try to go out to a store and focus on a grocery list. if u start to panic remind urself ur not going to die, there is nothing to be anxious about. Its all in ur way of thinking. Another really good technique is to breathe deep through ur nose, hold it and count to 5. Then breathe out through ur mouth letting the entire breath out. Do this slowly and repeat it..its a natural relaxation rechnique that will relax ur body and remind it that its not in danger (which is what brings on panic attacks) Hope this helps u
