Can someone help me with panic attacks/anxiety??
I suffer from extreme panic attacks and general anxiety. Can anyone tell me how to stop a panic attack, or something that can prevent these attacks from happening? They seem to come out of nowhere, and they happen quite often. Any suggestions?!
I have the same thing. I go to a therapist and that seems to eliminate stress. Talk to your doctor about an anxiety medication called Prozac. It takes 3-5 weeks to work and i am on it. it seems to help me alot. When i am in a stressful situation it keeps me calm and helps me to make a rational decision. It is not for everyone but it might be for you!!! Try it and best of luck!

Its something you learn to do,when you feel an attack coming focus on keeping calm, remember its only as bad as you allow it to be.

Seek professional help.
Meds and a combination of therapy may help.
If not financially apt, then public assistance may help.
Best of luck, It's not easy I know….

Try the Buteyko method. With practice you can stop attacks at the first sign. Then when you know this, you relax, and they don't happen so frequently.
Have a look at this site. There's a support group attached to it, a yahoo group, free to join.

Look at the testimonial section and you'll find a story from someone who found this method of great help in dealing with severe anxiety.

you can try meditating, breathing exercises, yoga.. they really help to calm your nerves.
or see a councillor.
if you really need instant relief, a doctor can prescribe you with beta blockers, these lower you heart rate and adrenaline levels.
but for the long run you should consider counseling and meditation, yoga, etc.
good luck
